What Is Rybelsus 3 mg?
Rybelsus 3 mg is a prescription tablet containing 3 mg of semaglutide. Semaglutide belongs to a group of medicines called glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists or GLP-1 receptor agonists.
It is prescribed for adults with type 2 diabetes as part of a treatment plan that includes a suitable diet, physical activity and regular blood-glucose monitoring. Rybelsus is an oral medicine and does not require an injection.
The 3 mg strength is the initiation dose used during the first 30 days of treatment. Its purpose is to introduce semaglutide gradually and reduce digestive side effects while the body adjusts. It is not intended to provide full blood-sugar control or serve as the usual long-term maintenance dose.
Rybelsus is not insulin. It works with the body’s natural glucose-regulating processes and acts mainly when blood sugar is elevated.
