What Is Rybelsus 14 mg?
Rybelsus 14 mg is a prescription tablet containing 14 mg of semaglutide. It belongs to a group of diabetes medicines called glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists or GLP-1 receptor agonists.
Healthcare professionals prescribe Rybelsus with a suitable diet and regular physical activity to improve blood-glucose control in adults with type 2 diabetes. It can be used alone or alongside other diabetes medicines according to the person’s treatment plan.
The 14 mg strength is a higher maintenance dose. It is prescribed after the patient has completed the initiation stage and has taken 7 mg once daily for at least 30 days. It is used when additional blood-sugar control is required.
Rybelsus 14 mg should not be used as the first semaglutide dose. Starting treatment directly at this strength increases the likelihood of nausea, vomiting and other digestive reactions.
Rybelsus is not insulin. Semaglutide works with the body’s natural glucose-regulating system and supports insulin release when blood sugar is elevated.
