What is Mounjaro 12.5 mg KwikPen?
Mounjaro 12.5 mg KwikPen is a once-weekly injectable medicine containing tirzepatide. Tirzepatide acts on two hormone receptors called GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide) and GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1), which are involved in controlling blood glucose, insulin release, appetite and digestion.
Mounjaro is also used together with diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in people aged 10 years and older with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is also indicated to reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events in adults with type 2 diabetes who are at high risk for these events. Tirzepatide can also reduce appetite and food intake and may result in body-weight reduction.
