Seroflo 250 Inhaler 120 MD

Review product details, usage information, precautions and storage guidance in the sections below.

01

What Is Seroflo 120MD Inhaler?

Seroflo is a combination inhaler manufactured by Cipla. 120 MD means 120 metered doses, or puffs, rather than the medicine strength.

Each puff of Seroflo 250 Inhaler contains fluticasone propionate 250 micrograms and salmeterol 25 micrograms, supplied as salmeterol xinafoate. Check the strength and device on your prescription because Seroflo also comes in other formulations.

02

Seroflo 250 Inhaler Uses

Seroflo 250 is prescribed for regular asthma treatment when an inhaled corticosteroid and a long-acting bronchodilator are needed together. It helps control wheezing, breathlessness, chest tightness and asthma-related coughing.

Some local product labels also include maintenance treatment for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and emphysema. Suitability depends on the patient's condition and the locally authorised product.

Seroflo is not a rescue inhaler. Use your prescribed reliever for sudden symptoms and seek urgent help if it does not work.

03

Benefits of Seroflo 250 Inhaler

When prescribed appropriately and used regularly, Seroflo may help:

  • Reduce wheezing, chest tightness, breathlessness and asthma-related coughing.

  • Improve ongoing symptom control, making daily activities more comfortable.

  • Reduce the need for a rescue inhaler as asthma control improves.

  • Provide anti-inflammatory treatment and a long-acting bronchodilator in one device.

Benefits vary between patients. Seroflo does not cure asthma or COPD, and you should still keep your prescribed reliever available for sudden symptoms

04

How Do Fluticasone Propionate and Salmeterol Work?

Fluticasone propionate is an inhaled corticosteroid that reduces swelling and irritation inside the airways. Salmeterol is a long-acting beta2 agonist that relaxes airway muscles, helping air move more easily.

Together, they support ongoing symptom control. Continue the prescribed schedule even on days when breathing feels normal.

05

Seroflo 250 Inhaler Dosage

A commonly labelled adult regimen for Seroflo 250 metered-dose inhaler is two puffs twice daily. However, this strength is not appropriate for everyone. Your prescriber selects the dose according to symptom control, previous treatment and local prescribing instructions.

  • Follow your own prescription; do not increase the number of puffs yourself.

  • If you miss a dose, skip it and take the next dose at the usual time. Do not double it.

  • Do not stop or reduce treatment without medical advice.

  • Children need an age-appropriate product and dose, not an assumed adult regimen.

06

Seroflo 250 Inhaler Side Effects

Possible side effects include:

  • Headache, shakiness or muscle cramps

  • Sore throat, throat irritation or a hoarse voice

  • Oral thrush, which may cause white patches or soreness

  • Palpitations or a faster heartbeat

Report persistent or troublesome symptoms. Rinsing and spitting after use helps reduce mouth-related effects.

Long-term treatment, particularly at higher doses, can cause adrenal suppression, reduced bone strength or eye problems. Inhaled corticosteroids can also increase pneumonia risk in people with COPD.

Seek emergency help for severe breathing difficulty, facial or throat swelling, chest pain or fainting. If wheezing worsens immediately after a puff, stop using that inhaler, use your prescribed reliever and obtain urgent medical assessment.

07

Warnings and Precautions : Seroflo 250 Inhaler

Do not use Seroflo if you are allergic to its ingredients. Tell your prescriber about heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid problems, low potassium, tuberculosis, other infections, glaucoma or osteoporosis.

Discuss pregnancy or breastfeeding before starting or changing treatment. Do not stop prescribed asthma treatment on your own.

Interactions can occur with ritonavir, cobicistat, certain antifungals, beta-blockers, some antidepressants and diuretics. Provide a complete medicine list and do not add another salmeterol- or formoterol-containing inhaler.

If you need your reliever more often, arrange prompt medical review. Keep the canister away from heat and sunlight, out of children's reach, and never puncture or burn it.

08

Seroflo 250 Inhaler Drug Interactions

Some medicines can change how Seroflo works or increase its side effects. Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all prescription medicines, nonprescription products and supplements you use.

  • Other long-acting bronchodilators: Do not add another inhaler containing salmeterol or formoterol. Using duplicate medicines can increase adverse effects.

  • Ritonavir, cobicistat and certain antifungals: Medicines such as ketoconazole or itraconazole can increase exposure to fluticasone or salmeterol, raising the risk of steroid-related effects or heart rhythm problems.

  • Beta-blockers: These can reduce salmeterol’s effect and may worsen breathing in susceptible patients.

  • Certain diuretics: These may increase the risk of low potassium, particularly alongside other medicines that also lower potassium.

  • Some antidepressants: MAO inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants can increase salmeterol’s effects on the cardiovascular system. Mention any use within the previous two weeks.

This is not a complete interaction list. Do not stop prescribed medicines yourself; ask your prescriber to review the combination.

09
