When prescribed for a suitable physical arousal problem, Lovegra can:

The jelly formulation is easier to swallow, but it should not be described as automatically stronger or more effective than a sildenafil tablet containing the same dose.

Sexual stimulation causes the body to release nitric oxide. This increases the level of cyclic guanosine monophosphate, commonly called cGMP, which relaxes smooth muscle and allows more blood to enter genital tissues.

Sildenafil blocks the PDE5 enzyme that normally breaks down cGMP. This helps the natural blood-flow response last longer and can improve physical sensitivity and arousal in women whose symptoms are related to reduced genital blood flow.

Lovegra does not produce an automatic sexual response. Physical or emotional stimulation is still required for the medicine to have an effect.

Lovegra Oral Jelly is generally taken 30 to 60 minutes before planned sexual activity by squeezing the prescribed amount from the sachet directly into the mouth and swallowing it. It can be taken with or without food, although a high-fat meal can delay its effect. 

Do not take more than one dose within 24 hours or combine it with another sildenafil or PDE5-inhibitor medicine. Sildenafil can remain effective for approximately four hours, but sexual stimulation is still required. 

The FDA-approved 100 mg sildenafil dose applies as the maximum dose for erectile dysfunction in men and should not automatically be used as a dosing recommendation for women.

Common Side Effects

Common effects include headache, facial flushing, indigestion, nausea, dizziness, blocked or runny nose, back pain and muscle aches. Temporary visual effects such as blurred vision, increased light sensitivity or a blue-green colour tint can also occur. These effects can become more noticeable with a 100 mg dose.

Serious Side Effects

Stop taking the medicine and obtain urgent medical attention for chest pain, fainting, severe dizziness, breathing difficulty or swelling of the face, lips or throat. Sudden reduction or loss of vision and sudden hearing changes accompanied by ringing in the ears or dizziness also require immediate medical assessment.

Lovegra Oral Jelly must not be taken without medical approval when any of the following applies:

• Sildenafil allergy

• Nitrate medicine use

• Riociguat treatment

• Serious heart disease

• Recent heart attack

• Very low blood pressure

• Severe liver and kidney disease

• Serious inherited eye disorder

• Pregnancy

Nitrates and riociguat are strict contraindications because combining either medicine with sildenafil can cause a dangerous fall in blood pressure.

Tell the doctor or pharmacist about all medicines, supplements and herbal products being used.

Important interactions include:

• Nitrate medicines

• Riociguat

• Alpha-blockers

• Blood-pressure medicines

• Other PDE5 inhibitors

• Other sildenafil products

• Ritonavir

• Azole antifungal medicines

Nitrates include nitroglycerin, isosorbide medicines and recreational nitrites called “poppers.” These must never be combined with sildenafil.

Ritonavir, ketoconazole, itraconazole, erythromycin and similar medicines can increase sildenafil levels. Alpha-blockers and blood-pressure medicines can increase the risk of dizziness, fainting and dangerously low blood pressure.

• Keep away from excessive heat and moisture.

• Do not use damaged or leaking sachets.

• Keep away from children and pets.

• Do not use after the expiry date.

• Do not save jelly from an opened sachet for later use.
