A whole 200 mg tablet is not a standard recommended sildenafil dose for ED. For many adults, sildenafil treatment starts at 50 mg as needed, about one hour before sex. A doctor may adjust the dose to 25–100 mg according to response, side effects and medical history.
The usual maximum dosing frequency is once in 24 hours. Some interactions require a longer interval. With ritonavir, the recommended maximum sildenafil dose is 25 mg in 48 hours.
Do not take a whole Careforce 200 mg tablet or split it to create a smaller dose without clear medical instructions and a pharmacist's confirmation that the specific tablet is suitable for splitting. Use a verified product in the prescribed strength where possible.
For example, if your doctor prescribes sildenafil 50 mg, use that strength. Do not substitute a 200 mg tablet yourself or take extra tablets because the first dose seems slow to work.
Sildenafil can be taken with or without food, but a high-fat meal may delay its effect. For as-needed ED treatment, there is no missed dose to replace.
If you take more than prescribed: Contact a doctor or local poison advice service promptly, even if you feel well. Get emergency help for serious symptoms.
