Febentel 222 mg is a tablet containing 222 mg of fenbendazole. Fenbendazole is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic that acts against susceptible roundworms, hookworms, whipworms and certain tapeworms.
Some people use fenbendazole outside its established antiparasitic indication for cancer after laboratory studies reported effects on cancer-cell division, glucose use and survival. Cancer research continues at the laboratory and animal-study level, but controlled human evidence remains limited.
Fenbendazole has also been included in early computational research involving COVID-19. Researchers examined whether fenbendazole and related benzimidazole compounds could interact with spike proteins from SARS-CoV-2 variants. These studies used computer models and did not test Febentel 222 mg in people.
Further research is required to determine whether the findings reported in cancer models or computer-based COVID-19 studies can produce safe and meaningful results in humans.
