Obivin D Eye Drop

Obivin D Eye Drop may be prescribed for bacterial eye infections where inflammation is also present.

1. Bacterial Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye)

Bacterial conjunctivitis is an infection affecting the conjunctiva, the thin membrane covering the eye surface.

Symptoms may include:

• Redness

• Eye discharge

• Irritation

• Watery eyes

• Burning sensation

When caused by susceptible bacteria, Obivin D Eye Drop may help control infection and reduce inflammation.

2. Blepharitis

Blepharitis is inflammation of the eyelid margins that may involve bacterial infection.

Symptoms can include:

• Swollen eyelids

• Eyelid crusting

• Burning sensation

• Eye irritation

• Excess watering

Doctors may prescribe Obivin D Eye Drop in selected cases.

3. Post-Surgical Eye Inflammation

Following certain eye procedures, doctors may prescribe antibiotic-steroid combinations to manage inflammation and help prevent bacterial complications.

Use after surgery should always be based on your ophthalmologist's advice.

• Helps Control Bacterial Eye Infection - The Tobramycin component works against susceptible bacteria responsible for certain eye infections.

• Reduces Eye Redness - Dexamethasone helps decrease inflammation that may cause redness and irritation.

• Helps Reduce Swelling - The corticosteroid component may reduce inflammatory swelling around eye tissues.

• Provides Dual Action Treatment - Instead of using separate antibiotic and anti-inflammatory eye drops, this combination provides both actions in one medicine.

• Improves Eye Comfort - By reducing inflammation, it may help relieve irritation and discomfort

Obivin D Eye Drop works through two mechanisms.

Tobramycin Action

Tobramycin blocks bacterial protein production. Without essential proteins, susceptible bacteria cannot survive and multiply effectively.

Dexamethasone Action

Dexamethasone reduces the release of inflammatory substances, helping decrease:

• Redness

• Swelling

• Irritation

• Discomfort

The combination allows treatment of both bacterial infection and associated inflammation.

Use Obivin D Eye Drop exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The appropriate dosage depends on the type and severity of the eye condition, your age, medical history, and response to treatment.

General dosage guidance may include:

• Put 1–2 drops into the affected eye every 4–6 hours.

• For severe symptoms, a doctor may initially recommend more frequent application and gradually reduce it as the condition improves.

• Continue treatment for the prescribed duration, even if your symptoms improve earlier.

• Do not increase, reduce, or stop the dosage without medical advice.

Common Side Effects

• Common side effects may include temporary burning or stinging after application, eye irritation, watery eyes, mild redness, eye discomfort, and temporary blurred vision. These effects are generally mild and short-lived.

Serious Side Effects

• Serious side effects require immediate medical attention. These can include severe eye pain, sudden vision changes, persistent blurred vision, severe swelling, difficulty breathing, facial swelling, or signs of an allergic reaction

Many people may notice improvement within a few days after starting treatment.

However, recovery depends on:

• Severity of infection

• Type of bacteria involved

• Individual response to treatment

Complete the full course prescribed by your doctor even if symptoms improve.
