Careprost Eye Drops 0.03%

Careprost Eye Drops 0.03% is a prescription ophthalmic medicine containing Bimatoprost 0.03%. It is primarily used to reduce elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) in people with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.

Bimatoprost increases the drainage of aqueous humor from the eye, helping lower eye pressure and reducing the risk of optic nerve damage and vision loss.

Under medical supervision, Bimatoprost may also be prescribed for eyelash hypotrichosis to increase eyelash length, thickness, and darkness where appropriate.

Healthcare professionals may prescribe Careprost Eye Drops for:

• Open-angle glaucoma

• Eyelash hypotrichosis (when prescribed)

Bimatoprost is a prostaglandin analog that increases the outflow of aqueous humor through the eye's drainage pathways. Lowering intraocular pressure helps reduce the risk of optic nerve damage associated with glaucoma.

When used for eyelash hypotrichosis, Bimatoprost prolongs the growth phase of eyelash hair follicles, leading to longer, thicker, and darker eyelashes over time.

Use exactly as prescribed.

For glaucoma or ocular hypertension, Careprost is commonly used once daily in the evening, although your ophthalmologist may recommend a different schedule based on your condition.

Do not exceed the prescribed frequency, as using it more often may reduce its effectiveness.

Common Side Effects

• Common side effects may include eye redness, itching, dryness, watery eyes, mild burning or stinging, and temporary blurred vision after application. Increased eyelash growth and darkening of the eyelid skin may also occur.

Serious Side Effects

• Serious side effects require prompt medical attention. These can include severe eye pain, noticeable vision changes, swelling around the eye, signs of an eye infection, or a severe allergic reaction.

• Wash your hands thoroughly. 

• Remove contact lenses before application. 

• Tilt your head back. 

• Instill one drop into the affected eye(s) as prescribed. 

• Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface. 

• Close your eyes gently for 1–2 minutes. 

• If using multiple eye medications, wait at least 5 minutes between products. 

• Reinsert contact lenses after at least 15 minutes if advised.

• Store below 25°C. 

• Keep the bottle tightly closed. 

• Protect from light. 

• Do not freeze. 

• Keep out of reach of children. 

• Discard the bottle according to your healthcare provider's instructions after opening.
