What Is SiroBoon 1 mg?
SiroBoon 1 mg is an oral immunosuppressant containing 1 mg of sirolimus. It forms part of a carefully planned treatment programme for people who have received a kidney transplant.
The immune system normally protects the body from infections. After a transplant, it can identify the donated kidney as foreign and begin attacking it. This reaction is known as organ rejection.
SiroBoon reduces this immune response so the body can accept the transplanted kidney. It is commonly used alongside other anti-rejection medicines such as cyclosporine and corticosteroids.
SiroBoon does not repair an already damaged kidney or treat an active episode of rejection by itself. Its role is to help prevent rejection as part of the treatment plan created by the transplant team.
