Dapoforce controls premature ejaculation on the occasions when it is taken. Its effectiveness varies between individuals and depends on factors such as the cause of the condition, correct timing and personal response to dapoxetine.

Serotonin is a natural chemical messenger involved in controlling the ejaculatory reflex. After serotonin carries a message between nerve cells, it is normally taken back up by the releasing cell.

Dapoxetine temporarily slows this reabsorption. More serotonin then remains available between the nerve cells, helping delay the signals that trigger ejaculation.

This can increase the time before ejaculation and improve control during sexual activity. Dapoforce does not directly treat erectile dysfunction because it does not increase penile blood flow in the same way as medicines such as sildenafil or tadalafil.

When the 60 mg strength has been prescribed, take one Dapoforce tablet approximately one to three hours before planned sexual activity.

Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water. It can be taken with or without food. Drinking enough water is important because dapoxetine can sometimes cause dizziness, reduced blood pressure or fainting.

Do not take more than one Dapoforce 60 mg tablet within 24 hours. It is an on-demand treatment and should not be taken every day unless a specialist has provided different instructions.

The 60 mg tablet is the maximum established on-demand dose. This strength is generally selected when a lower dose has not provided sufficient benefit and has not caused significant side effects. Never take a second tablet because the first dose did not work as expected.

Avoid alcohol on the day Dapoforce is taken. If you begin to feel dizzy, weak, sweaty, nauseous or light-headed, sit or lie down immediately and wait until the symptoms have completely passed.

Common Side Effects: Nausea, dizziness and headache are the most frequently reported effects. Some men may also experience diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, dry mouth, tiredness, sweating, anxiety, difficulty sleeping, sleepiness, blurred vision or reduced concentration. 

Serious Side Effects: Stop taking Dapoforce and seek medical assistance if you faint, have a seizure, develop a fast or irregular heartbeat, or experience severe mood or behavioural changes. Urgent help is also required for breathing difficulty, facial swelling or signs of serotonin syndrome, including severe agitation, confusion, fever, tremor, muscle stiffness, heavy sweating and a rapid heartbeat.

Dapoforce 60 mg should be avoided by:

• People allergic to dapoxetine

• Men younger than 18 years

• Men aged 65 years or older

• Women

• People with significant heart disease

• People with moderate or severe liver disease

• People with severe kidney disease

• People with uncontrolled epilepsy

• People with low blood pressure when standing

• People taking MAO inhibitors

• People taking other serotonergic antidepressants

• People taking strong CYP3A4 inhibitors

Men with glaucoma, kidney problems, bleeding disorders, seizures or a history of mood changes require an individual medical assessment before taking dapoxetine.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines, supplements and recreational substances you use.

Important interactions include:

• MAO inhibitors

• SSRIs, SNRIs and tricyclic antidepressants

• Thioridazine

• Tramadol

• Lithium

• Linezolid

• Triptan migraine medicines

• St John’s wort

• Ketoconazole and itraconazole

• Ritonavir and other protease inhibitors

• Sildenafil, tadalafil and similar medicines

• Alpha-blockers

• Warfarin and other blood thinners

• Alcohol and recreational drugs

Combining dapoxetine with other medicines that increase serotonin can cause a serious reaction called serotonin syndrome. Alcohol can increase dizziness, sleepiness, impaired judgement, low blood pressure and the risk of fainting.

Do not combine Dapoforce with another premature ejaculation or erectile dysfunction treatment unless the combination has been specifically approved by a healthcare professional.

• Store it in a cool and dry place.

• Protect the tablets from direct sunlight.

• Keep them away from heat and moisture.

• Do not store the tablets in a bathroom.

• Keep the medicine away from children and pets.

• Do not use damaged or discoloured tablets.

• Do not use the medicine after its expiry date.

• Dispose of unwanted tablets according to local pharmacy guidance.
